There are many
facets to being a good Hobo. Style, taste, and
humility are not parts of a Hobos life. That
being said, neither should shame, as guilt and
morals will only weigh you down and make you
resent others, which is more the quality of a
Gutter Bum, and not a Hobo.

Clothing.
Not all Hobos
wear torn or ripped clothing. Merely out of
style (or as I like to believe, just coming in
to style) clothing. Trend setters use like
motives to be 'cool'. A good Hobo will wear the
different trend, the one found in the bottom of
drawers, and in op-shops recently ravaged by
trendy people who don't truly believe somebody
died in those clothes. The piece of torn skin
found in zippers should be coveted, not burnt
with its recently departed owner.
Also, contrary
to popular belief, tears to clothing should be
earned in scuffles with peers, or the occasional
trip to the ground. Holes in clothing should be
a result of wear and tear. Not manufactured to
give the look. Aspiring Hobos will see the
benefits of wear and tear in the comfort value
of clothing. The thinnest and oldest shirt in
the cupboard (or, if laziness dictates, on the
floor) is always the most comfy. New shirts must
be worn in before admired.
